'A Day at the Races' - fortunately not with the Marx brothers. One of the best ways to entertain your clients at the races is by taking a box where you can look after them exclusively. An excellent view of the racing can be combined with a seated lunch, tea and drinks throughout the day, provided and staffed by the racecourse catering company. The suggested venues for the top races are Ascot, Newmarket, Cheltenham and Goodwood.
Customer experience:I acted as tour leader on a racing trip to South Africa. We put together a varied itinerary to combine trips to the races, stud farms and training centres. The hospitality shown to our group throughout was outstanding. During the 18 day tour we traveled to the Cape, Transvaal and Natal. I am delighted to say that there were no hiccups, as I was not an experienced guide! This was on account of the highly organized Robert Hutchinson who had meticulously planned the operation from the London headquarters of Sporting Tours. Our clients universally stated what a wonderful and interesting trip it had been.
